A walk-in clinic focused on providing ambulatory care in a dedicated medical facility outside of a traditional emergency department (emergency room) will serve the community in and around Warrenton. Urgent care centers treat injuries or illnesses requiring immediate attention but not serious enough to require an ED visit. These centers are distinct from other ambulatory healthcare facilities, such as emergency departments and convenient care clinics, due to the range of conditions they treat and the on-site facilities available. The clinic will also build relationships with nearby hospitals in Athens, Augusta, and Macon, potentially serving as extension locations, and include a helipad for emergency medical evacuations.
