About Guru

HH Paramahamsa Parivrjakacharya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Siddheswarananda Bharati Maha Swamy is the current peethadhipathi of Sri Siddheswari Peetham, Mouna Swamy Mutt, Courtallam, Tamil Nadu. He is a distinguished spiritual leader known for his profound contributions to Hindu dharma.

Early Life

Born on January 23, 1937, as Dr. Prasada Raya Kulapathi (Venkata Lakshmi Vara Prasad Rao) in Elchur, Narsaraopet Taluk, Guntur District, to Sri Potharaju Purushotthama Rao and Smt. Swarajya Lakshmi, HH Swamiji came from a lineage of poets and wrestlers. His great-grandfather, Sri Rama Kavi, was a revered guru to the famous Kopparapu poets.

Spiritual Practices and Achievements

From a young age, HH Swamiji was involved in wrestling and literary pursuits. His transition to spirituality was marked by intense penance and sadhana in the Himalayas, Kaasi, Brindavan, and Courtallam. He practiced yoga, pranayama, and Lambica Sadhana, including cutting the lower part of his tongue. During his penance, he survived on cow milk and minimal food.

He was initiated by Dattatreya mantra Upaasaka Sri Pasumamula Subbaraya Sastry and achieved Naaga mantra siddhi. He began chanting the Chinna Masta (Vajravairochani) mantra, and upon completing one crore chants, was blessed with Prachandachandi’s darshan. Lord Shiva appeared and bestowed upon him Pranava Panchaakshari. Under the guidance of the great yogi Sri Radhika Prasad Maharaj (Sri Raallabandi Veerabhadra Rao), he commenced Radha Mantra Sadhana. Radha Devi granted him her Darshan and initiated him with her Astakshari Mantra.

He also received divine protection from Chinna Masta (Vajra Virochani) in the form of Bhadra and was blessed by Matangi-Syamala Devi with divine music. Various deities such as Hanuman, Tara, Tripura Sundari, and Renuka showered their grace upon him.

Pre-Birth Blessings and Establishment of Swayam Siddha Kali Peetham

It is believed that 600 years ago, during his previous birth, Mother Kali appeared before him during his penance in the Himalayas and turned into an idol. This idol manifested again in his current life, leading to the establishment of the Swayam Siddha Kali Peetham, or ‘the temple of the self-manifested Kali.’ Graced by Goddess Kaali, HH Swamiji was initiated with the Kaala Bhairava Mantra. He traveled to Kaasi and chanted this powerful mantra, during which Lord Kaala Bhairava and Kaali Devi appeared and blessed him, further enhancing his mystic powers.

Sannyasa Deeksha and Ascension On September 8, 2002, Dr. Kulapathi received sannyasa deeksha from HH Sri Siva Chidananda Bharathi Swamiji, the Pontiff of Sri Siddheswari Peetam. He was given the name Sri Siddheswarananda Bharathi Swami and declared as his successor. HH Sri Siddheswarananda Bharathi Swami officially ascended the throne of Sri Siddheswari Peetham on December 19, 2002, on Datta Jayanthi Day.
